About us
Yolanda Alonzo’s Love, Inc. is a Newark-based, community-rooted nonprofit founded by Rukmini Alonzo to confront the root causes of violence, trauma, and inequity.
Born out of an urgent need for survivor-centered, community-led solutions, our work is grounded in the belief that healing and opportunity should be accessible to everyone.
We stand alongside individuals and families impacted by domestic and community violence; offering support, restoring dignity, and helping build pathways toward safer, more stable lives.
Our Approach
Our work is driven by compassion, trust, and deep community connection. Using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices, we partner with survivors, families, and neighbors to break cycles of violence and create lasting change.
Through outreach, counseling, mentorship, and coordinated support services, we meet people where they are; walking with them every step of the way toward healing and independence.
Our mission
To empower survivors of domestic violence and individuals impacted by trauma by providing advocacy, trauma-informed care, and access to essential resources that promote safety, stability, and long-term self-sufficiency.
“I am so thankful for Yolanda’s Love, Inc. My daughter loves being part of the youth program. She has learned so much, made new friends, and feels more confident. The support and kindness they give to our family means everything to us.”
